Youth Ministries
The purpose of youth ministries at the Merrimacport United Methodist Church is to provide a safe and fun environment for children to develop a vital relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and to grow into mature Christians in God’s family. All programs are run and led by background-checked staff and volunteers as part of the church’s Safe Sanctuaries Policy. Please let us know ways we can continue to serve your children better.
Sacred Dance
We currently have 2 sacred dance groups. Preteen/Teen Group and the Elementary sacred dance group. These groups choose their songs, interpret the song with dance and then perform the dance during services.
Youth Sunday School
is held every other Sunday during worship, beginning after the children’s message where children receive interactive Christian education through games, art, music and video. When children stay in worship, craft tables are set up next to the Sanctuary. This schedule enables children to participate in worship on a regular basis.
Youth Group
is held every other Sunday afternoon from 4-6pm and includes a combination of mission, learning, discussion and fun for middle and high school youth. Special events are scheduled throughout the year such as 30-Hour Famine and Soul Fest. This year the youth will be discussing the possibility of a mission trip!
