The youth participated in the 30 hour famine May 5-6. While going without food themselves for 30 hours, they served at the Merrimac Senior Food Pantry, made pillows for Emmaus House, baked cookies for kids at Emmaus House, made CSB (Corn Soy Blend) for those who wanted to experience third world food donations rather than fasting completely, played tribe games to learn about world hunger, and slept outside in cardboard boxes. They broke their fast with Holy Communion during worship Sunday and then had a fabulous spaghetti lunch. They have raised $2,474 to fight world hunger – that feeds over 80 kids for a month.
