Our Good Friday service will be a service of Tenebrae, which is Latin for Darkness. This will be a time of reading through the story of Jesus' suffering and death. This is an important time of facing the dark reality of Jesus' death while we also acknowledge the darkness that we face in our lives.
You are invited to prepare for the service by gathering candles together that will be extinguished throughout the service. You can use many candles and extinguish them progressively as we move through the readings, or if you just want to use one candle that will be extinguished at the end of the service that works too.
There will be a lot of scripture readings throughout the service. If you would like to participate by reading any of the scripture passages, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call or text me at 978-308-9841. We would love to have as many voices join in the reading as possible.
