General Conference News and Updates


The United Methodist Church’s top legislative body, the General Conference, will gather April 24-May 4 in Tampa, Florida. Nine hundred and eighty-eight delegates from around the world will set policy and direction for the church, as well as handle other business.

Pray for General Conference. Please keep our United Methodist Church, and all the delegates and bishops to General Conference, in your prayers. The list of our New England Conference delegates can be found on this page – they appreciate your special prayers as well!

Bishop Peter D. Weaver to deliver the Episcopal Address.

Our own New England Conference Bishop Peter Weaver has been selected to deliver the Episcopal Address at the 2012 General Conference. Be sure to tune into the live webcast at 8:15 AM on Wednesday, April 25.
