Youth are organizing donations for United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). They will be assembling two different relief kits – health and layette — which UMCOR is especially low on right now.
Youth will host an overnight gathering on May 31 to work on this mission, and will be leading worship on June 1. All youth 12+ are welcome to join the effort! Youth are requesting donations from their church and community with a goal of assembling 50 health kits ($12 value) and 10 layette kits ($35 value).
You can view the health kit item descriptions, or you may donate money for the youth to purc
hase the items. At church for the next three Sundays you will see items listed on hearts which you can take as your reminder to purchase the items you promise. Please bring in all items to the church by May 31.
Mother’s Day Idea! Youth will purchase all layette kit items so they are requesting monetary donations only. Mother’s Day cards will be available this Sunday if you would like to donate a layette kit in honor or memory of a special woman in your life.
UMCOR provides emergency relief as well as long-term response to disasters such the recent tornadoes in our own country and continued relief in areas such as the Philippines and Haiti and around the world.
Jane Sample and Pastor Gwyneth will bring the assembled kits to Annual Conference at Gordon College on June 11 and place them on the UMCOR truck.
Thank you in advance for your generosity!
