Dying to Self – 2nd Sunday of Lent – 2018
Mark 8:31-38
This week we reflect on Mark 8:31-38. In particular, we are focusing on Mark 8:35, which is probably fairly familiar to many of us. “For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake, and for the sake of the gospel, will save it.” What does it mean to lose our life for Jesus’ sake and for the sake of the gospel? If we lose our life, how can we save it? What does Jesus mean by the words “life” and “save”? What does this have to do with our ego? We explore these questions and more in this second week of our Lenten journey.
