After completing our longer summer sermon series, Campfire Stories from the Bible which took us through some of those “good old stories” from the Old Testament, in August we focused on the Psalms with a three-part series on a Psalm of Confession, a Psalm of Praise and a Psalm of Lament. The first week on Confession we studied Psalm 51, written by David after being confronted by the prophet Nathaniel concerning his sins of adultery and murder. All were invited to come forward and take a wash cloth as a symbol of the cleansing power of Jesus who washes away our sin.
